JIPIT 2023 Call for Submissions

JIPIT welcomes submissions for its 2023 Volume. Topics in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Governance, and Intellectual Property are especially encouraged.

Acceptable submissions are journal articles, legislative commentaries, and case reviews. The submissions should address developments in the Global South and conform to the APA referencing style.

We are sourcing papers for two Issues of JIPIT. A special issue on 'The State of AI in Africa' and a second Issue (regular issue) on Intellectual Property and Data Governance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

JIPIT only accepts original and unpublished submissions that meet its substantive and technical requirements. The Journal strongly prefers to receive submissions online via this website. Direct email submissions, however, will also be accepted through cipitjournal@strathmore.edu. The Journal will not consider hard-copy submissions.

The Journal prefers to publish full-length articles (i.e., 10,000 to 25,000 words, references included). Book reviews, case commentaries, and legislative commentaries are also welcome (5,000 to 7000 words, references included). The Journal will consider submissions from law professors, practitioners, clerks, etc.

To publish in JIPIT, authors should accept and fulfil the following requirements:

  • Stylistic and bibliographic requirements
  • Copyright License
  • Legal and ethical standards
